Dec. 22nd, 2005 @ 08:27 pm Help?
My significant other just bought some KY Warming Lube for us to use (we're both still virgins) and I was just wondering if it was safe for vaginal use? The warming sounds nice, but I'm afraid it might also cause irritation. If anyone has an experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.

I have heard it's not a good plan... the heat, plus the friction... just... ouch! You might try just regular ky, or get some Wet, or Slick... but something that doesn't heat up, especially if it's your first time.

I recently looked into this product. It's label states that it is water-based and safe for use with a condom. I myself haven't actually tried it yet, although I would like to. I have used the regular formula KY products with no problems.

I'm curious what others experienced as well.

I wouldn't use it for your first time. Until you know what's normal for you, you might want to keep it simple. You may find that you don't need any at all. I didn't my first time ^_^ But it's good to have some on hand, just in case.

If, during the act, you find that you're drying up a bit. Do NOT resort to lotion. It can break down the condom and let things seep out. Just in case you didn't know.

Also, I didn't like the KY Warming. It could be just because I don't like KY in general, lol. The texture of it is strange and hard to explain. It's not very lubricating, I don't think. Astroglide is good. Especially for anal. I don't know if you'll be getting into that anytime soon!

I'll stop now. I've gone too far.

"Do NOT resort to lotion. It can break down the condom and let things seep out. Just in case you didn't know. "

Great point. Same for vaseline.

Plus, so many lotions have all those perfumes and dyes that really aren't supposed to be in the vag.

And you can never go too far. IMHO, anal is one of those things that people need to stop giggling over and just try it once.

I would try it on yourself, by yourself, first to see how it is.

Personally, I've had good and bad experiences. Sometimes, it is just a nice warming sensation. Sometimes, ouch!

A lot of these "heat up things" work under the principle that liquid activates it.If you're a little dry down there, and use it, then there isn't much interaction with "natural" liquid, and it heats up only a little.

If you're already really wet, and just wanting to have some fun, it might get a little too hot.

I would suggest holding off, for the first time. It kinda ruins the momment if you suddenly push him off and scream "Ouch!! Hot!"
